These playing cards are a personal project that is currently in progress. Unlike the Seers X Form playing cards I am doing these entirely by myself. Partly for creative control partly for the experience. It features a custom Court cards but maintains the standard pips that collectors and magicians alike are partial to. They have a custom back design which is completely symmetrical and a custom tuck case. I have taken special care to ensure that everything ties together seamlessly for example, the green that is used for the box is also the green that is used on the back design. These are also more focused on collectors who are always looking for interesting decks to add to their collection. I also wanted these to appeal to some performers as well so having a clean border, a reversible back design, clean pips and clean indices was important for this.
Custom Court Cards
I've always had an interest in the design of playing cards. From the early designs back in the 1370s to the more modern/traditional decks you will see now. For this reason I tried very hard to maintain some of the common design aspects of the court cards whilst applying a level of detail that modern decks do not have. Typically the playing cards you would see in a normal setting would have solid blocks of colour that had no texture. I wanted it to feel more like they were actually wearing what is shown. So all of them feature a textured layering witch pulls the design together.
Designed Ready For Print
All parts of the deck have been designed following the United States Playing Card Company's specifications and die templates so that they are ready to print the second the Kickstarter campaign convenes. The turn around for a 1000 decks is quite long, around 30 day's so to get them out on time you have to be quick. So I always send the designs to the USPCC in advance so they can pre flight them and we can minimize any potential delays.
